The trail starts at the hiking parking lot in the Königswalde district of Brettmühle. From the valley of the Conduppel and Pöhlbach streams, the trail climbs up to the Horizontalweg with a view of the village of Königswalde. Along the Vogelbeerweg trail with a wonderful panoramic view of the Pöhlberg, the hike leads over a ridge to just before the upper village of Mildenau. After crossing the Sandbachtal valley, the route continues into the Rauschenbachtal nature reserve to the Rauschenbachmühle mill. The route then reaches and crosses Arnsfeld, a village typical of the Ore Mountains. The route finally leads over another ridge to the destination, the Preßnitz Valley Museum in the village of Niederschmiedeberg, which is attractively embedded in the landscape of the Preßnitz valley.
Start at the Conduppelweg hiking parking lot opposite Gasthof & Pension Brettmühle - along the S262 towards Königswalde - right uphill on the path to Brettmühle (white-yellow-white) - cross the S265 Jöhstädter Straße - downhill following the S265 parallel and half-right on the farm track (Plattenstraße) (white-yellow-white) - uphill and right onto Vogelbeerweg - follow left until shortly before Mildenau - right onto Eisenstraße towards the Obermildenau hiking parking lot - left downhill towards Dorfstraße - right onto Dorfstraße towards Neugrumbach - cross Sandbachtal (white-green-white resp. white-yellow-white) - sharp left onto Wirtschafsweg in the direction of Rauschenbachtal (white-green-white resp. white-yellow-white) - turn right onto Katzensilberweg (white-green-white) - cross the Rauschenbachtal nature reserve - Rauschenbachmühle - follow Katzensilberweg and left downhill into Arnsfeld on Niederer Weg/ Unterer Weg - cross Niederdorf - right onto Hauptstraße - sharp left from Hauptstraße onto Gutsstraße - follow hiking trail (white-green-white resp. white-yellow-white) in the direction of Niederschmiedeberg - as far as Niederschmiedeberg - turn right onto Talstraße to the hiking parking lot in front of the Preßnitz Valley Museum
