In the past, the Mühldorferbach powered numerous grain mills in Mühldorf; with the Barbarossa Gorge, it has created a very special natural jewel. For over a hundred years, a lovingly laid out path system has opened up the gorge and leads over bridges and footbridges, past waterfalls and cascades, to the so-called "Barbarossatisch." Here, a rock table, sheltered under a massive rock, invites you to a cozy picnic. By the way, according to legend, the legendary Emperor Barbarossa really rested here.

From the parking lot, initially keep right to the underpass below the railway tracks. Immediately after the underpass, turn left and shortly reach the beginning of the gorge trail.
Return route from the end of the gorge keeping right on the marked path through the forest back to the starting point.
