Mühldorfer Alm - Kleiner Salzkofel

From the mountain station of the Kreuzeckbahn, alternatively follow the forest road and hiking trail no. 342 to the Mernikalm. Continue on trail no. 15 to the Mösernhütte. Here we turn left and reach the junction for Kleiner Salzkofel after about 20 minutes, where we turn right onto the newly created path. This leads us over the distinctive ridge first through a light forest and then across open terrain to the Koppen. From here westwards over the ridge in a few minutes to the summit of the Kleiner Salzkofel.

Descent: back to the Koppen and along the continuing ridge to the Roßeben. Here we meet trail no. 342. Turning left, we follow it northwards to the crossing; here continue right to the Mühldorfer Alm, keeping left past it and continue over the Mernikalm to the starting point at the Kreuzeckbahn.

Variant:
It is possible to do the alpine round hike without ascending the Koppen and the Kleiner Salzkofel. From the Mösernhütte we follow the flat path to the signpost Salzkofelhütte/Mühldorfer Alm. Here downhill to the Mühldorfer Alm.
