‘Relax in harmony with nature’
Wonderful hikes across sun-drenched mountain slopes, lush alpine meadows and deep green forests. From the mountains to the north, the Gumriaul can be seen from Anras; the slightly higher Gölbner and the Arnhörner are also well known. However, the “local mountains” are arguably the Spitzenstein, the Breitenstein, the Golzentipp lying between them, and the Dorfberg to the south. “Enjoying sport to your heart’s content” is the order of the day!
“Summer retreat in Anras”.
Anras is a place steeped in history. As early as 1100, the bishops of Brixen recognised the value of this recreational area, with its particularly favourable climate, and established their summer residence in Anras. Through purchases and donations, the Anras estate expanded as far as Obertilliach and eastwards to the Lienzer Klause. In 1236, Emperor Frederick II granted Bishop Heinrich of Brixen secular power. Until the 19th century, court was held in Anras and the bishops, with their entourage, spent their “summer retreat in Anras”.
