Welcome to the Market Town of Stainach-Pürgg!

Upon arriving in our town (72.94 km², approx. 2,850 inhabitants), your eyes will immediately be drawn to the nearby Grimming – our iconic local mountain.

Pürgg (750 m), described by Styrian poet Peter Rosegger as the "Nativity Scene of Styria" due to its picturesque location, boasts three cultural gems:

• The Parish Church of St. George (consecrated in 1230)
• The St. John’s Chapel, famous for its Romanesque frescoes, including the renowned Cat and Mouse War
• The Parish House of Pürgg

Pürgg can also be reached via the Burgstall climbing garden from Untergrimming.

A standout feature of Stainach-Pürgg is the newly designed main square, an inviting place to relax.

But there’s much more to discover: from culture at the CCW-Cultur-Centrum-Wolkenstein to tradition, such as the annual Glöcklerlauf on January 5th and the Advent on Pürgg, held since 2002.

The local industry also plays a key role in securing jobs, with companies like Landena KG (Knabernossi) and *Ennstal Milch KG*(Ennstal Milch, Landliebe).

Thanks to the Stainach/Irdning railway hub, Stainach-Pürgg is easily accessible by car, bus, and train. Pürgg also has a train station, though it requires a short but steep 10-minute uphill walk to reach.
