Winter hiking trail: Großarl to Hüttschlag

The tour starts at the Reitsteg in Grossarl, from where you walk along the Achenpromenade to the Gruber carpentry workshop. Alternatively, you can drive to the Reitwiese parking space (only in winter) next to the Gruber carpentry workshop or take the Postbus No. 540 to the Grossarl Lagerhaus bus stop. From here, follow the mountain road and walk past the Baumeister Kaiser company premises. Immediately after this, the Achenpromenade continues and leads you comfortably to the Neumayr country house. Then cross the Ache again and follow the path to the “Harbachhäuser” (approx. 5 km). Then cross the road at the power station and walk slightly uphill to the Griesbichlhof. Finally, walk along the Ache again to the last houses. Here, cross the road again and pass the Neuhofkapelle chapel. Now walk behind the tunnel to the center of Hüttschlag (approx. 8 km from Grossarl) – return via the same route or take the bus back.
