Guided hikes are particularly recommended in winter, as local hiking guides may be able to better assess the accessibility of the relevant paths or test them before the planned tour.
Hikes can also be combined with guided city tours. Thematic hikes, except herbal tours, are available on request.
We recommend a short tour from Wolkensteiner Markt in a south-easterly direction. The tour leads through the gateway opposite the town hall on the Panoramaroute cycle path to the Kohlau outwork, where it turns left following the green markings via Großrückerswalder Straße back to the town center.
A detour to the Zeisigstein rock pulpit (from Kohlau to the right, also marked in green), with views of the Preßnitz and Zschopau valleys, is well worthwhile.
After heavy snowfalls and drifts, high boots or so-called snow shoes are recommended.
