The route starts in central Kristinestad and you pass through old wooden house quarters to Norrfjärden where you can stop by the town's birdwatching tower. Then the route continues to the town's museum Carlsro where you can see how a wealthy merchant family spent their summer in the mid-1800s by Storsjön (more info about Carlsro at visitkristinestad.fi).
After Carlsro you continue on the same road and after a while Galleri Gottorp appears on your right side, an art museum built on logs from the 1700s. There you can get acquainted with exhibitions about, for example, the witch trials in Kristinestad in the 1600s.
Then the second part of the route takes you through the western parts of the town. In Antila there is a nice sandy beach and further on the way comes the idyllic fishing village of Alesundet which with its quay is a favorite spot for locals to swim and enjoy the sun. A tip is to come and enjoy the sunset on the quay, you will not be disappointed. After Alesundet you head back towards the town centre's highest located place where Kristinestad Swedish high school is located.
End by taking a beautiful photo at the 1700s church Ulrika Eleonora and a walk through the Town Hall Park before the route is completed.
