The Kotka park route is 19.4 kilometers long. You can pick your favorite parks from the selection or go through the entire route briskly or by bike. The route includes Sapokka Water Park, Katarina Sea Park, Sculpture Promenade, Fire Tower Hill Park, Sibelius Park, Toivo Pekkanen Park, Fuksi Park, Peony Park, Big Park, and Herb Garden Redoubt.
Sapokka, besides being a small boat harbor, has been restored into a delightful green area. Water is the prevailing element in the park. In addition to the sea area, water flows in small streams and ponds and in a nearly 20-meter-high waterfall on the park's southern slope. At the Eero Hiirosen square, you can see seven works by Professor Hiirosen.
Katarina Sea Park is a large outdoor area built into the ruins of the Battle of Svensksund fortifications. The park features a wide meadow area and stunning picnic spots. One of them is a stone table for 50 people located by the sea, said to be Finland's largest picnic table. Also built in the park is a meditation labyrinth modeled after the medieval Chartres Cathedral, with a path length of 525 meters to the center.
The Sculpture Promenade is a route just over two kilometers long passing through the center of Kotka. From the linden avenue of Keskuskatu street and its two connected parks, Toivo Pekkanen Park and Sibelius Park, an impressive modern art sculpture park has formed. It has received the Environment Construction Award (2001) and the Pro Sculptura medal (2004).
Welcome to enjoy yourself in Kotka's parks.

Five of Kotka's parks have been awarded the Green Flag award. Four of these parks are located along the route.
The construction of the parks has made extensive use of recycled materials. The majority of the soil masses come from other construction sites, and the stones used are by-products of quarries. Old street cobblestones have also been utilized in many ways.
Along the route, there are several fortifications from the time of the Battle of Svensksund (1789 -1790), which have been restored as sights. The herb garden is established in the old Redoubt, and in the Sea Park are the Gun Battery and the fortifications of Katarina. The large park contains Kotka's oldest building, the Orthodox church, which is the only building from that time preserved intact.
