A challenging snowshoe route due to elevation changes, Fell Conquest starts from the Ukkohalla ski resort and climbs to Pieni Tuomivaara. Lichen-covered spruce forests lead the snowshoer along a demanding route towards the summit. Snow-laden forests stop you to admire the views, and the summit offers wide-reaching fell scenery that enchants snowshoers. Along the way, you can admire the beautiful Sky Cabins. The route can be done independently or with a guide.
Despite the short length, the route is challenging due to large elevation differences and is therefore recommended cautiously for children and beginners. Route markings are orange-white orienteering control flags. Magnificent fell scenery, snow-laden spruces, lichen-covered forests.
The route is marked with orange-white orienteering control flags and the first control point is at Ukkohalla's Akan kiusaus and Hallan kurvi near the slopes (slope numbers 1 and 13). The route is easily accessible by walking along the lower part of the slopes. From the first control point, the route follows the edge of the slope for a short distance before continuing into the forest on the other side of the slope. From the ski slope, a steep hill is climbed into the forest, after which the route steeply ascends towards the summit of the fell right next to the ski slopes. The route encounters a ski slope, which is crossed, followed immediately by crossing a snowmobile trail. The snowmobile trail is crossed again fairly quickly, and the route continues through the forest until it reaches Lämpölatu road and the upper station of the ski lift becomes visible. To the left, across Lämpölatu road, are the SkyCabins. The route continues along the roadside straight towards the ski lift’s upper station. The route turns left past the parking lot towards a wooden storage building and the lit Lämpölatu trail. Continue past the wooden storage about 100 m, where magnificent fell views open up. Head back towards the Lämpölatu trail and continue down near the western ski slopes. The last control point is located above a large parking area right at the foot of the slopes.

Sturdy shoes for snowshoes and weather-appropriate clothing.
A map is recommended and is also available from the equipment rental.
You can bring a backpack, snacks, fire-making equipment, tinder, and a phone.
The route is not illuminated, so it is recommended to bring a headlamp. Darkness can come quickly especially from November to February.
The ascents of the Fell Conquest are occasionally very steep.
The snow's load-bearing capacity and weather conditions, such as snowfall, can affect the difficulty of the route.
