Steinberg

This difficult hike goes from the small town of Korpitsch to the top of the Steinberg- right on the Slovenian border. On the valley path there is a restaurant called "Trabinerhof" where you can enjoy great food!
This relatively long but varied hike begins in Korpitsch on trail number 3, heading west, where it meets up with the Marienpilger (Marian Pilgrimage) path. You follow this path for a short time until it crosses with path number 13, which you take heading upwards, until you come to trail number 689. Here you turn right and pass the Krainberg, where you can already enjoy a fantastic view. Going further, the path curves to the left in the direction of "Steinberg (1597 m)." Shortly before the summit you join up with path number 603, which leads you to the summit. Here you can enjoy a great view of the Villach Basin and the jagged Julian Alps before you pass a few hutts in the Radendorf pasture and head back into the valley. After passing a spring, you follow path number 688 back down to the Trabinerhof restaurant. After refueling here, there is just a small hike back down to the starting point.
