KAT100 – Austria’s Longest Ultra Trail: International Elite Field Set to Take on the PillerseeTal

169 kilometres, 9,000 metres of elevation gain and around 1,700 participants from 55 nations: From 6 to 8 August, Fieberbrunn will once again become the centre of the international trail running scene at KAT100 by UTMB®. The programme features six races, three days of competition and distances ranging from eight to 169 kilometres.

As part of the prestigious UTMB® World Series, the event is one of Europe’s most significant trail running races and a permanent fixture on the international racing calendar. In addition to sporting prestige, athletes are also competing for valuable World Ranking points.

The sporting highlight is the 100 Miles. With 169 kilometres and 9,000 metres of elevation gain, the KAT100 100 Miles is considered Austria’s longest ultra trail. The race starts on Thursday, 6 August, at 6:00 pm in the centre of Fieberbrunn. Among the strongest registered athletes are China’s Yongbo Wu, with a UTMB Index of 800, and Belgium’s Logan Perin, with a score of 761.

A total of 25 Austrian runners will take on the longest distance. Among the strongest home athletes is Linz-based Bernd Kriechmair, who finished eighth in the KAT100 100 Miles in 2023.
