Green Riddle Ring & Arlenzauberweg

 The Green Riddle Ring leads from Lech to the Rud-Alpe—a short, thoroughly entertaining hiking trail featuring a mystery scavenger hunt for the whole family. To solve the puzzles along the Green Mystery Trail, you’ll need the “Impossible Workbook.” It guides you through the whimsical and quirky stations that will really put young and old detectives to the test. At the end of the trail near the Rud-Alpe, you’ll find the most precious treasure on earth, along with a prize, a water playground, a gorgeous terrace, and culinary delights. After a refreshing break, the trail continues across the flower meadows of the Schlegelkopf, past the 3D archery course, and along the fascinating Arlenzauberweg through the evergreen coniferous forest of Oberlech. A hidden, small lake in the forest—the Libellensee—awaits discovery with its mystical creatures. You’ll then reach Oberlech and its beautiful sun-drenched terraces with places to stop for a bite to eat. Near the Hotel Sonnenburg, you’ll find a playground with a climbing frame and a lovely play stream. A little further up, near the Hotel Goldener Berg, there’s another playground with a trampoline and a volleyball court. Finally, at the very top of Oberlech, the animals are out and about: donkeys, goats, rabbits, sheep, and even cows call the Muxelhof petting zoo home. At the very end, you’ll find the Skyspace-Lech light art installation, as well as a barbecue area with a spectacular view. You can return either by taking the Oberlech mountain railway for a leisurely ride or by walking through the Burgwald forest back to the village of Lech am Arlberg.

The trail can also be walked in rain or wet conditions.

Safety in the mountains

From Germany: Take the A96 motorway to Bregenz from there on the A14 motorway to Bludenz, continue on the S16 to the Lech Zürs am Arlberg exit. Follow the B197 up to Alpe Rauz, turn left here onto the B198 through Flexengalerie and over the Flexenpass to Lech Zürs am Arlberg.

From Switzerland: Via the A13 motorway and the Feldkirch, Hohenems or Lustenau border crossing on the A14 motorway to Bludenz. Continue on the S16 until exit Lech Zürs am Arlberg. Follow the B197 up to Alpe Rauz, turn left here onto the B198 through Flexengalerie and over the Flexenpass to Lech Zürs am Arlberg.

From Austria: Via the Inntalautobahn A12 and then via the S16 to the exit St. Anton am Arlberg (Arlberg Pass). Follow the B197 first through St. Anton, then through St. Christoph and over the Arlbergpass to Alpe Rauz. Turn right here onto the B198, drive through Flexengalerie and over the Flexenpass to Lech Zürs am Arlberg.
