Gaglaweg St. Gallenkirch

Your hike begins in the village center of St. Gallenkirch. In front of the municipal office, you will find a fountain near the bus stop. Now you need to cross the street and go down the narrow road. From there, continue going down, cross the cycle path, and follow the path to the Ill. After crossing the wooden bridge, turn left to the Gässchärm. Feel free to enter the Gässchärm as well. Now an idyllic forest path leads you along the Ill towards Gortipohl. At some point, you will see the Garfrescha railway on the left side of the stream. However, you continue to follow the path on the right side of the stream until you reach a covered wooden bridge. Cross over this bridge and follow the path through the Hüttnertobel upwards past the Pest Chapel to the next junction. Here, go left and find a wonderful view over St. Gallenkirch. You have now reached the meadow path. From here, follow the meadow path back to the town center of St. Gallenkirch.

Drive on the A14 to the Bludenz/Montafon exit and continue on Montafonerstraße L188 to St. Gallenkirch.

Just leave your car parked

The regional buses operate throughout the Montafon. The main lines run every half hour from Schruns train station.

Arrival by train to Montafon

From Bludenz station, the Montafon Railway runs hourly (partly half-hourly). There are also direct connections from Lindau (D) and Bregenz.
