This car route winds through the countless hairpin bends and the equally many peaks of the Dolomite passes that circle around the wonderful and unique Sella Group, the enormous mountain group overlooking the valleys of "Fodom" in the Province of Belluno, Badia and Gardena in the Autonomous Province of Bolzano, and Fassa in the Autonomous Province of Trento.
These valleys are all inhabited by populations speaking the Ladin language, belonging to the group of Romance languages and derived from Vulgar Latin.
The people of these areas are well known for being strongly connected to the traditions of the past, to the extent that they still pass them down today: alpine pastures with cows and goats, meadow and pasture mowing for haymaking, production of cheeses and dairy products, and woodworking for preparing firewood for the long winters.
Also many village festivals linked to the calendar of old times, marked by the seasons and work rhythms: Patron Saint, Ladin Festival that brings together all four valleys, summer festival, autumn festival, solemn ceremonies for holidays like Christmas and Easter.
The involved passes are:Campolongo, Gardena, Sella, and Pordoi.

Clockwise circuit: from Arabba center, take the road to Passo Pordoi; about halfway, turn right and begin the ascent of Passo Sella. The summit deserves a stop to admire the breathtaking walls of the Sella Group and Sassolungo. Continue along the road to the locality "Pian De Gralba" where you will find the junction for Passo Gardena that will lead to Corvara in Val Badia. From here, pass the town center and climb the hairpin bends of Passo Campolongo to return again to Arabba.
Counterclockwise circuit: from Arabba center, take the pleasant climb of Passo Campolongo leading to Corvara. After passing the town center, at the junction turn left, pass the village of Colfosco and reach the summit of Passo Gardena. Here take a break to admire the incredible canyons of "Val Mesdì" and "Val Setuss", a winter paradise for freeride enthusiasts. Along the descent, you reach the locality "Pian de Gralba", where you will find the junction for Passo Sella, whose summit invites another short stop to photograph the immense walls of the Sella Group and Sassolungo. After crossing the pass, descend along the hairpin bends to the junction where, turning left, you take Passo Pordoi which, with its 33 hairpins, leads back to Arabba.
