Mikael Agricola reitti
The Agricola route is a historic route that runs through the medieval landscape alongside Kuninkaantie in the idyllic church village of Pernaja in Loviisa. The route can be freely followed in either direction,...
At the destinations along the route you will see the site of Mikael's birthplace, his playground, the medieval stone church of Pernaja and the statue of Agricola, which was erected in his memory in the park opposite the church. In summer, the route also includes a summer café and a flea market.
The route is about 4 km long and is also suitable for cycling. Most of the route is an old sand road through the village landscape. In Pernaja church village, you can get an exceptional feel of a medieval village with beautiful old wooden buildings, sea gulfs and idyllic landscapes. Just over a kilometre from the church car park is Lillbäston's public beach, where you can rinse the road dust off your toes after your tour. Loviisa town centre is only 12 km away and offers a wide range of restaurants and cafés.
