Bräuwiese Public Bathing and Leisure Area

The 30,000 m² Bräuwiese leisure area, situated on the western shore of Lake Traunsee in the district of Mitterndorf, is one of the most popular in the region thanks to its pleasant atmosphere, convenient transport links and beautiful views across Lake Traunsee to the Traunstein mountain on the opposite shore.

The site is free to enter and offers visitors paid parking facilities in the immediate vicinity, as well as free changing rooms, open-air showers, a football pitch, a children’s playground and a self-service snack bar (Tel. +43 (0)664 9114211).

The sunbathing lawn, approximately 230 metres wide and sloping down 40 to 50 metres, also offers shadier areas thanks to scattered medium-sized trees.

The shore essentially consists of two shallow bays with a gravel beach approximately 2 metres wide. The water here deepens only gradually, making it particularly suitable for children and non-swimmers. Wheelchair users can also access the sunbathing lawn without difficulty, and there is a disabled-accessible toilet on site.
