From Karlskirche to Steinkasernalm MTB Route 5079

From the parking lot, directly in front of the Karlskirche/Volders, head towards the main road and after 50m turn right into a forest path. Cross a small bridge to the left onto a meadow path and continue to Volders.

Keep right along the road to Kleinvolderberg, after a few minutes continue straight towards "Stiftsalm Voldertal". From Volderwildbad keep to the valley on the forest road. We cross the stream and pass steeply by the junction to the Voldertalhütte.

Then gently uphill past a cluster of huts, the Dörfl, and to the junction Schwarzbrunn. Schwarzbrunn is suitable for a short break, including stretching feet into the cold stream.

From Schwarzbrunn it is steep again to Vorbergalm. From here the next 200m of altitude gain proceed more gently to Klausboden. Here you need to gather strength again before the last 2 hairpin bends up to the Almsiedlung Steinkasern. Steinkasern is unfortunately unmanaged, but there are always chilled drinks in the fountain for a small donation.

Return the same way. This time with a detour to the Voldertalhütte!
