Summit route from the Schmidt-Zabierow Hut to the Hinterhorn (2,506m)
The mountain route to the Hinterhorn is one of the easier mountain routes in the Loferer Steinberge. Nevertheless, a certain basic fitness and freedom from dizziness are required since the trail leads above 2,500 meters.

From the Schmidt-Zabierow Hut, trail no. 612 leads you up towards Breithorn, until after a left turn you go straight ahead to the Waidringer Nieder. From there, you pass the small Hinterhorn to the Große Hinterhorn/Mitterhorn.
For the return to the Schmidt-Zabierow Hut, take the same route.

Breithorn (no marked hiking trail) possible as an additional summit ascent.
Käthe, the hut keeper, knows the Loferer Steinberge very well. A tip from her is always worthwhile.
