Experience the Buchberg – completely relaxed, completely close.

Just a few minutes from Salzburg, the Buchberg Nature Park (801 m) awaits with a panorama that leaves you speechless. Amidst gentle meadows and ancient forests, your hike starts at the Weyerbucht parking lot in charming Mattsee. Passing historic Bavarian farms, the path initially meanders comfortably along the lakeshore, offering beautiful views of Lake Mattsee. Follow the signs and turn left onto Weyerallee and then left again onto Ramooser Straße. Continue by taking the third street to the right onto Hofgartenweg uphill. After crossing the street, a marked trail gently ascends through forest and meadows to Vogelhütte. Then continue over the Buchberg western ascent, which runs on well-maintained forest and woodland paths and repeatedly opens up small viewpoints.

The path leads with a pleasant incline through the natural area of the Buchberg up to the summit, where a designated power spot is located. At the Buchberg summit, hikers are rewarded with an impressive panoramic view over the Salzburg lake district, Lake Mattsee, Lake Obertrumer, and the gentle Alpine foothills. After an enjoyable break on the summit plateau, the return route leads down over Gaisberg on varied paths. Forest paths finally lead to the road crossing on Buchbergweg, and from there, it goes across Stockwiese back to Weyerbucht, where the scenic circular tour ends and the lake invites you to linger once again.
