Themed trail: Play & Hike trail PIESENDORF -> NIEDERNSILL

Your adventure starts directly at the access to the Hinkelsteinbad pool Piesendorf, just before the railway crossing. From here, cross the railway tracks and follow the busy road, which is also part of the Tauern Cycle Path. After about 500 metres, you'll reach the first play station "A hat, a cane, and a lady's petticoat" - recognizable by the board with a QR code. 

TIP! At every station along the trail, you'll find a board with a QR code. Simply scan the code to get an easy game instruction on your phone. 

Continue along the Tauern Cycle Path until you reach the Hummersdorfer bridge. Cross the bridge - and on the right-hand side, you'll spot the next game "Word chains". Here the path splits - especially important if you're walking with a dog: WITH DOG: continue straight ahead on the Tauern Cycle Path towards Niedernsill until you reach the dog training area. WITHOUT DOG: turn right immediately after the bridge, next to the game board, and follow the trail along the Salzach river. 

You are now entering the GRAZING AREA - please stay on the marked trail, don't walk across the meadows, and keep an eye out for grazing animals, especially in early summer and autumn. Along this section, you'll encounter the following games: "Cloud flight", "Find something smooth" and "Barefoot walk". Shortly before the sewage treatment plant, the next game awaits "Throw & run". Here, switch from the meadow path to the paved road. Right afterwards, at the entrance to the treatment plant, you'll find "Meadow - forest - mountain". 

Keep following the path until you reach the road, which you'll cross. On the other side, you'll find "Flower ring". Now continue along the gravel path and follow the Mühlbach stream upstream. Soon, the next game awaits "I'm packing my suitcase", followed by crossing the stream to reach "Freeze like a statue". After this game, leave the gravel path and continue on the Erlachweg (paved road) until the second junction. There, turn right into Schattbergstraße. With a bit of luck, you might spot the donkeys here. Pass the traditional farmhouse and head downhill - CAUTION! This road is often busy. 

At the next crossroads - on the left above you'll see Pension Casa Montana - the game "Which hand?" is waiting for you. Continue right along the Dorfstraße, pass the certified hiking accommodation Gasthof Zur Pinzgauerin, until you reach the left turn into Am Seeweg. Turn here, then immediately right into Moosweg. Here you'll find the game "I spy with my little eye". 

Continue left towards the Edelsteinpark, walk past the park, and soon you'll arrive the entrance gate of the Niedernsill bathing lake - congratulations, you've reached your destination! 

Comfortable hiking or sports shoes, weather-appropriate clothing, sun protection, rain protection, drinks, and snacks. 

If you are hiking with small children, don't forget a child carrier or an all-terrain stroller. The trail passes through some managed meadows with gates or crossings - you might need to lift the stroller briefly in these areas. 

🐶 DOGS are not allowed along the Play & Hike trail by the Salzach river. ðŸš« If you're hiking with a dog, please use the Tauern Cycle Path from the Hummerdorfer bridge to the dog training area in Niedernsill - this route runs parallel to the themed trail. To keep things fun along the way, pick a suitable nature game from the Outdoor Play Collection and add some playful variety to your walk!  

🐄 Grazing animals: Parts of the trail lead through grazing areas. Especially in early summer and autumn, cows and horses are out on the pastures. Please stay calm, keep your distance, and always remain on the marked path. Be sure to close all gates and crossings carefully behind you. 

🌿 Please respect nature: take your packaging, empty cans, and bottles back home or dispose of them properly at the next bin. This helps us keep our beautiful landscape clean.  

📌 Fair play & respect: be mindful of other people, plants and animals. Only together can we preserve nature as a valuable space for everyone to enjoy. 

Take the Pinzgau Lokalbahn train or regional bus line 670 to Piesendorf. From the public transport stops, it's a short and easy walk to the start of the Play & Hike trail - right at the entrance to the Hinkelsteinbad pool.
