The mountain ridge in the southwest of the municipality of Faistenau consists of the three peaks Ochsenberg, Eibleck, and Kallersberg. It forms the municipal boundary as well as the border between the districts Salzburg Umgebung and Tennengau. A romantic high path leads experienced hikers directly on the ridge from one summit cross to the next.
From the starting point in Vordersee, at the parking lot we go left onto the paved road on path 852 towards Grünau / Wurmwinkel. After a wooden bridge, the road ascends until we reach a plateau (Grüau). At the first intersection, we keep left and follow the forest road for about 600 meters until we again take the left path. Along the edge of the forest, gently ascending, we reach a bridge at the end of the path. Immediately after this, a trail leads to the Grünaualm. Upon arrival at the alm, we pass the two huts on the right, cross the cart track, and climb the somewhat steep slope. At the saddle between Spielberg and Kallersberg is the Moser Memorial. We pass it on the right until after 50 meters we reach a well-developed forest road. We now follow this to the Eibleckalm, continue over the alm up to the ridge. Once at the top, it's just a few meters to the summit cross. The descent is the same as the ascent. Those who want can also return via the ridge back to the Moser Memorial. A wonderful path leads us over the Eibleck and the Kallersberg. The descent requires a bit of concentration and practice as you have to balance over many large rock slabs.
