Tree nature trail in Alpendorf

On the section of the "Alpendorf Panorama Trail" from Naturhotel Gut Berg (formerly Hotel Alpenhof) to the Panorama Apartments Weitenmoos, there is a tree nature trail, on this trail the entire Austrian tree population grows (all coniferous and deciduous trees – over 30 varieties!).

The individual tree species are presented by information boards. On these boards, the hiker receives information about the occurrence, the use of the type of wood, the fruits of the trees, and much more. Additionally, there are also general notes about the tree population in Austria. A wood identification station, a "tree crown mirror," and a "tree hugging station" as well as a rest area with wooden sunshades and lounge chairs complete the tree nature trail.

It is very unusual that on this relatively short section of the Alpendorf Panorama hiking trail the entire tree assortment of Austria has grown naturally. The hikers should be sensitized to the topic of renewable raw materials and food suppliers etc. through the descriptions of the tree species. Through the various stations and wood identification boards, the forest habitat is made more "experienceable" for the visitor. In addition to hiking, attention is drawn to the recreational area "forest" with its oases of calm and further relaxation seating options.
