E4 Tauern Cycle Path Saalachtal

The route starts in Niedernsill and runs along the well-marked Tauern Cycle Path through Kaprun to Bruck an der Glocknerstraße and from there towards Schüttdorf, through Porsche Alley and along the lake promenade to the marina at Lake Zell. Turn left and follow the road past Prielau Castle, through Maishofen and over Gerling to Saalfelden. From here, the Tauern Cycle Path runs along the Saalach River through the towns of Weißbach, St. Martin, Lofer, over the "Little German Corner" and Großgmain to Salzburg.

You can cycle the Tauern Cycle Path in stages and start from any location. Continuing to Passau is possible!

Salzburg Transport (Bus & Train) 

Note on bike transport with the Pinzgau Local Railway:Many cyclists start the route already in Krimml, the classic start of the Tauern Cycle Path. Currently, a rail replacement service with buses operates between Mittersill and Krimml.
