Not only Payerbach but also the district of Küb became a popular destination for visitors from the city after the Semmering railway was built. As the infrastructure in Küb improved, there was also a need for a post office. It is said that this was even requested by the then Empress Zita so that she could communicate with a confidante in Küb. This led to the opening of a post office in Küb in 1905. Today, the nostalgic post office is the only historic post office in Austria from the imperial era that has been preserved and is definitely worth a visit!
