In the footsteps of the First World War between trenches and trenches
The San Pellegrino Pass is an extensive mountain pass about 11 kilometres from Moena that forms the border between Trentino and the province of Belluno. In summer it is a popular destination for excursions and trekking tours, which can lead to the slopes of the Costabella and Monzoni groups as well as to the area of Col Margherita and Cima Bocche, with remarkable trenches from the First World War.
The pass is a guardian of precious treasures: The lake, whose crystal-clear waters reflect the beauties of nature; the historic hospice, the starting point for pilgrims travelling to the Agordino area, and the small church dedicated to St. Anthony of Padua, embellished with paintings by the Moenese artist G. B. Chiocchetti.
