Rheinfall - Rheinau - Eglisau

Stage 1: Rheinfall - Rheinau (hiking time 2 1/2 hrs) From Schlössli Wörth, you follow the SwitzerlandMobility route Via Rhenana No. 60 downstream towards Rheinau. You hike directly along the Rhine shore to Nohl. Here you change sides of the river. Via Dachsen and after the large Rhine loop, you reach the idyllic town of Rheinau. Tip: In Rheinau, it is worth visiting the uniquely situated Baroque monastery church.

Option: During the summer season you can return upstream to the natural spectacle Rheinfall by scheduled boat.

Stage 2: Rheinau - Eglisau (hiking time 5 1/4 hrs) From Rheinau you follow the SwitzerlandMobility route Via Rhenana No. 60 downstream towards Buchberg/Rüdligen. The path leads you through a romantic, natural river landscape to the cable ferry in Ellikon. Passing the Thur estuary, you reach the wine-growing region around Rüdligen, a wonderfully located wine village with pretty timber-framed houses and excellent restaurants. You follow the signs through the lovingly tended vineyards, along the river landscape of the Rhine and thus reach your endpoint Eglisau.
