In the Weisstannen valley, the first ibex of Switzerland were reintroduced in 1911. This important event is documented and staged by the ibex trail.
The hiking trail leads from the Erlen bridge Weisstannen to the Kloster bridge, along the wild stream Seez. The path is equipped with various elements and informational boards that provide insightful information on different topics. A barbecue area with covered seating invites young and old to linger.
Normal hiking equipment, sturdy mountain boots.
Sargans motorway exit, then on the main road to Mels. In Mels the way to Weisstannen is signposted.
By train to Sargans, then by bus to the Weisstannen Oberdorf stop.
Public parking available at the start of the hike.
