Route No. 39 Haute-Corrèze MTB Area: The Cars site

Variéras is the first stage of this overview with its thatched cottages and a bridge dating from the Carolingian era. After Ars, the Gallo-Roman site of Les Cars is also a must-see for history enthusiasts. The Gallo-Roman site, with remains dating from the 2nd and 3rd centuries, consists of a funerary complex and a dwelling located 300 meters apart. A beautiful testimony of the past!

Through forests and villages, you continue the mountain bike route along the trails of the Haute-Corrèze FFC MTB Area towards Pérols-sur-Vézère to discover, notably, the Razel and Chaumeil mills, which were long used by the inhabitants before the French Revolution. Heading back, Bugeat already signals a return to civilization…

Note: routes No. 37 and 38 offer a shortcut option.
