Start: Bort-les-Orgues, a small town with a flourishing industrial past, thanks to the Dordogne River. You will begin with a long climb to pass over the famous basalt columns and then near the highest point of the circuit (800 m). Then, don’t miss a quick return to the Saint-Nazaire site where a superb view over the valley carved by waters over millennia awaits you. Now, some vernacular heritage and rediscovered old paths are presented to you. A magical descent along the Diège: enjoy the calm at the bottom of this small valley. Beautiful churches not to be missed along the route. Do not skip the Saut de Juillac there-and-back before finishing this first stage.
The trail is marked in Yellow & White with pedestrian markings. It is registered in the PDIPR.
