One of the most beautiful stages on the Thayatalweg: from Raabs, the route leads through alluvial forests and along the Thaya to the imposing Kollmitz ruins. It is enthroned high above the Thaya on a rocky outcrop - weathered walls, overgrown courtyards and sweeping views bring history to life. This is followed by a quiet, almost untouched section directly along the Thayaufer, past old mills, through valuable natural forests and near-natural mixed forests on the slopes to the walled old town of Drosendorf. A destination straight out of a picture book!

Kollmitz ruinsWalled town of Drosendorf
Vom Hauptplatz in Raabs an der Thaya verläuft die Route entlang der Thaya zur Böhmischen Mauer und weiter zur Ruine Kollmitz. Über Kollmitzgraben führt der Thayatalweg zur Haidlmühle und folgt anschließend über mehrere Mühlenstandorte dem Flusslauf. Über Eibenstein, Primmersdorf und den Robesgraben erreicht die Wanderung schließlich Drosendorf und dessen historische Altstadt.
