Predigtstuhlweg - Nöchling

From the market square, the trail heads west along the Kienrieß farm road toward the Kienberg houses. Following the farm road and forest trail, you’ll reach the Luftensteiner Haus. The trail then crosses the stream and continues along a meadow path to the Bauerngruber. Following the farm road, which leads slightly uphill, you’ll reach the side trail that winds through meadows and the forest to the Predigtstuhl, a rock offering a magnificent view of the Strudengau (since the first viewpoint is somewhat obscured by shrubs, you can continue through the forest to the second viewpoint. From here, you have a completely unobstructed view of the Strudengau valley). Retracing your steps along the side trail, the path turns left toward Gloxwald. In the village of Gloxwald, the hike crosses the road; continue straight ahead past the church and follow Trail 3 (forest road) uphill to a large forest clearing (lumber storage area). The trail continues along the forest road through the woods and then on farm roads toward Nöchling. At the edge of Gloxwald, there is a side trail leading to the quarry lakes and the quarry monument of the abandoned Gloxwald quarry (swimming is permitted in the first lake at your own risk until further notice from the owner).

Vienna – Take the A1 to the Ybbs/Wieselburg exit – Take the B25 Erlauftal highway to Persenbeug – From there, take the B3 to Hirschenau – Turn right there and continue to Nöchling

Linz - Take the B3 toward Perg/Mauthausen/Steyregg to Hirschenau – turn left here and continue to Nöchling
