Kapuzinerkreuzweg
You start the former pilgrimage route in Waidhofen/Thaya at the RAIBA building. The trail takes you through the city park to the Zwiebelkapelle. Continuing out of town toward Wohlfahrts, the Stations of the Cross of the Capuchins line the road. In Wohlfahrts, you leave the road. From here on, you hike along dirt paths past additional stations along the Thaya River to the Kapuzinersteg, where you cross the Thaya, continuing toward Meires, where you’ll pass more Stations of the Cross. From Meires, the trail leads you along a beautiful old tree-lined avenue, past wayside shrines, up the Rafingsberg to the Maria Rafings pilgrimage chapel.
