Worth seeing:
Pöggstall Castle - in 2017 it was the venue of the Lower Austrian State Exhibition "Everything That Is Right" - houses a museum about legal history including the only "original" torture chamber and a documentation about the life and work of the artist Franz Traunfellner. Also excitingly told, the special exhibition "Pöggstall Castle - between region and imperial court" in the barbican tells of the eventful restoration, significant finds, and astonishing stories about the castle lords. A 3D animation clearly shows how the keep or later castle grew from its original structure to its current shape.

Besides Pöggstall Castle with its barbican (roundel), also worth seeing are the very old St. Anna Church in the field (1140), the parish church Pöggstall, and the pilgrimage church in Neukirchen (1118) on the Ostrong, which as a pilgrimage church is older than Maria Taferl.

Leisure tips:
4 tennis courts, beach volleyball court, football pitch, a covered multisport facility, playgrounds, campsite, mountain bike and cycling routes, fishing and riding opportunities, Pferdehof Laas, Texas Longhorn Austria, Hotglass Atelier Faffelberger, Herb farm Schrammel, brand painting Josef Mitmasser.

Starting from the main square, you reach Loibersdorf via Loibersdorf Street. In the village, turn right past a historic lime kiln. At the last house, turn right over a forest path along the stream, to the street to Gerersdorf. At the village end towards Braunegg lies the Traunfellner house to the left. The return path to Pöggstall leads via the street to Loibersdorf. From there to the starting point of the path.

A1 to Melk exit - drive over the Danube via B3a and switch to B3 and drive to Weitenegg - here change to B216 and drive to Eitental - drive on L7223 Seiterndorf and on L7226 to Pöggstall
