The GARTENWEG Schiltern connects the popular Excursion destinations Kittenberger Adventure Gardens and ARCHE NOAH Show Garden and shows what else there is to discover in the garden village of Schiltern: From the garden village school to the so-called Pflanzsteige - historic community gardens - to the idyllic wine cellar lane, from lovingly designed private gardens to artists and craftsmen who have dedicated themselves entirely to the theme of gardens, to winegrowers and wine taverns.
The garden owners and GARTENWEG partner businesses are happy to open their courtyards and garden gates and provide insights into their private garden retreats and craft workshops. You can get to know different approaches to gardens and gardening, look over the shoulder of an artist or craftsman, chat about passions, methods and tricks and perhaps even taste one or two products from the garden, kitchen and cellar (advance booking recommended).
From the Kittenberger Erlebnisgärten, follow the signs along Laabergstraße and Untere Straße. Turn right after the Mayerei wine tavern. Continue on Reither Gasse. At the edge of town, turn left. After the playground, church, and planting paths, go downhill and back into the town area. There, turn right and reach the marketplace. From here, follow Obere Straße to the ARCHE NOAH Show Garden.
From the ARCHE NOAH Show Garden, follow Obere Straße (back) towards the town center and reach the intersection with Schulgasse. Turn right here and reach the garden village school. From the garden village school, continue along Schulgasse to the "Winzerplatzl," a scenic rest area in the middle of the vineyard. Turn left towards the cellar lane. At the intersection at the lower end of the double-row cellar lane, turn left and follow the road back into the town area. At the intersection with Karglstraße, turn left and immediately right again. Now follow Untere Straße and Laabergstraße back to the Kittenberger Erlebnisgärten.

As a special feature, the GARTENWEG repeatedly dedicates itself to new planting themes, reflected in the distinctive pink flower pots found in many public places, to which various authors contribute their very personal thoughts. The texts accompany the respective planting theme in a poetic, ironic, or humorous manner.
