The “Down-to-Earth Röschitz – Paths to Wine” scenic trail winds for just over 6 kilometers through the wine-growing village of Röschitz and the surrounding hilly landscape. The route combines scenic exploration with fascinating facts about the origins and development of Röschitz wine. It focuses on the various factors that shape the wine and its distinctive characteristics. The trail explores the interplay between people and nature as well as the significance of faith, tradition, and centuries-old viticultural culture.
The region’s geological foundations play a special role. Primordial rock and traces of the ancient primeval sea shape the soil and, consequently, the conditions for viticulture. The adventure trail brings these connections between geology, landscape, viticulture, and regional culture to life in a vivid way.
The route runs through and around Röschitz, winding through gently rolling countryside. Sturdy casual shoes and light hiking gear are recommended for the hike. The trail is also suitable for touring bikes and mountain bikes.
The total length of the trail is just over 6 kilometers. There are two marked shortcuts along the route: one that shortens the distance to about half, and another that shortens it to about one-third of the total distance. Dogs are welcome! However, to protect wildlife, please keep your dogs on a leash.

There are train connections to Hollabrunn or Eggenburg, and from there, bus connections to Röschitz.
You can park your car right at the starting point.
From May through October, a snack box is available for you so you can grab a bite even when the Heurigen are closed.
