Further Tips:
Handicraft Museum Alte Schmiede: The smithy has existed for more than 440 years and is still owned by the same family. Initially, the focus was on horseshoe and wagon smithing, but plows and tools were also made for the farmers and craftsmen in the area. After World War I, the business shifted increasingly to tool smithing. For this reason, the smithy was equipped with a tail hammer and an 830 kg heavy shaft. The St. Oswald smithy was widely known as an equipment and drill smithy. The current saw was rebuilt in 1943, equipped with a Venetian frame saw, and operated by a self-built pressure turbine. (Info: Wikipedia).
Falkerthaus:It was built in 1950 by the Austrian Alpine Club, is located at 1,557 m above sea level, and is accessible by car and stroller. Sun terrace, products from the farm, trout from its own pond. Sunbathing meadow, sheep stepping for tired feet after the hike with home spring water (Kneipp cure with speik). For children: playground, petting zoo.
Lärchenhütte: The hut is located at 1,670 m. Products from its own farm, all homemade. Cozy lounge and terrace. Tip: cheese dumplings, meat noodles, Kaiserschmarrn with homemade lingonberries. For children: playground. There is also a stroller path to the Lärchenhütte.
For animal lovers: horses, cows in St. Oswald, marmots, as well as deer and stags can be observed on the way toward Falkert.
For in between: Lingonberries for self-picking as well as spring water to quench thirst.
Attention: Sometimes the path leads over springs and streams - the ground is swampy.
