Long, adventurous route from the Petzen mountain station over the Kniepssattel to Feistritzer Spitze. Then downhill to Luschasattel and south of Dickenberg back to the valley station of the Petzen cable cars. The Petzen is located in the middle of the Karawanken UNESCO Global Geopark.
Beautiful well-marked hiking trails over scenic summits and gentle meadows, through romantic forests and past idyllic huts.
From Siebenhütten through the bright larch forest past the St. Anna Chapel uphill to the tree line. Ascent to the Kniepssattel. Near the summit of Hochpetzen, trail 603 (Karawanken hiking trail) branches off southwest to the Luscha Saddle. Continue on trail 640 over the wide and lush alpine meadows downhill to the Wackendorfer Alm, which is only occasionally managed. Along trail 640 you leave it near a hunting hut at Dickenberg (1,167 m) and follow a narrow path No. 7, which leads east. At the exit of the Kolsche-Graben, you meet a farm road that leads east and ends at the valley station cable car.
