For refreshment along the route, the Schwaigerhütte, Hansbauerhütte, Sommereggerhütte and AlexanderAlm invite you.
From the Schwaigerhütte and Alexanderhütte, the hiking trail leads to the Tschierweger Nock and further to the Hochpalfennock. The hiking trail follows the ridge up to the Tschiernock. Then follows the descent to the Hansbauerhütte, which is only a few minutes' walk from the Sommereggerhütte. After a refreshment at the huts, it goes over the Leitenbachalm back to the Alexanderhütte.

Important prerequisites for the success of a mountain hike, in addition to careful study of guides and maps, include optimal equipment. Basic equipment consists of solid, well-fitting mountain or hiking shoes with grippy soles, water- and wind-resistant mountain clothing in layers, hiking poles, functional tops for changing, sunglasses, sun protection, mobile phone, hiking map, a first aid kit, as well as enough to drink and a snack.
Proper behavior in the mountains
Careful route planning based on descriptions and hiking maps is essential for the success of a mountain hike. Equally important is the correct assessment of everyone’s mountain experience, fitness, surefootedness, freedom from vertigo, and resilience. Never leave marked hiking trails and avoid shortcuts. Inform yourself about weather conditions before the hike and return to the valley in case of deteriorating weather. The mountains are for everyone. Helping to preserve and keep them clean is every hiker's duty. You should carry your garbage down to the valley and protect the flora and fauna. Always keep dogs under control and on a short leash. If an attack by a grazing animal is imminent, the dog must be released immediately. Austrian farmers make an important contribution to maintaining our alpine landscape. We ask you as a visitor to adapt respectfully to this beautiful landscape. Show respect to the people working here, nature, and the animals. Most important emergency numbers in case of an accident in Austria

You should allow about 30 minutes for the ascent. To maintain the Almstraße and as an infrastructure contribution for the care of the alpine landscapes, a toll of €8 per car is charged (with the Millstätter See Inclusive Card, the ride is free). The toll fee can be paid in cash (including change) or by card on the way up or down.

For booking a ride with the Nockmobil, we recommend a lead time of about an hour. You can book your call taxi by phone at +43 123 500 444 24, via the app or the ISTmobil website.
It is possible to drive up to the final parking lot at the Schwaigerhütte by car. Here the car can be parked safely and free of charge.
