Landskron Castle - Wine route
On 7 display boards, hikers are provided with interesting and worthwhile information about viticulture in Carinthia, especially at Landskron Castle. The quiz questions show how much you know about wine!
From the starting point of the route, we follow the short ascent through the vineyard of the Neumaier family up to the paved access road to the castle. Here we turn left and pass the castle gate. Immediately afterwards, we keep right, circle the castle with wonderful views of the surrounding landscape. At the café on the panoramic terrace, a signpost leads into the castle premises, which can only be visited with Mr. Mag. Neumaier (see the author's tip!).

By car from Villach, come to Landskron and then on Ossiacher Strasse towards Ossiacher See. At the Schoenwirt junction, turn right into Max-Lautritsch-Strasse and then the first left to the toll road.
Villach main station to Landskron on the Ossiacher See South Shore Road, stop Max-Lauritsch-Straße.

Ample parking available around the castle pond accessible via the toll road. Those who want to walk for half an hour longer can use a parking lot at the toll station and first reach the Burgherrenrunde via path no. 1 to Ossiacher See, and after about 10 minutes turn off onto the former toboggan run.
There are also guided tours through the vineyard (advance registration required), followed by a tasting.
