From Villach, the route first leads along Lake Ossiach. Passing the Bleistätter Moor - a species-rich nature reserve and European nature reserve - you can enjoy sweeping views over the water and the surrounding mountains.

The route continues to Feldkirchen in Carinthia, a charming small town with a historic town center. From here, the route leads through the gently rolling hills towards Glantal. A short detour to Glanegg Castle is worthwhile - the impressive castle complex has shaped the landscape for centuries.

Finally, you are accompanied by the imposing Hochosterwitz Castle, one of the most impressive castle complexes in Austria with its 14 gates. At Lake Längsee, St. Georgen Abbey invites you to take a stylish break right on the lakeshore.

The tour ends at St. Veit an der Glan railroad station - an ideal combination of lake scenery, river sections and cultural highlights.
