Siebenhütten route on the Petzen

Challenging 16-kilometer-long route with almost 1400 meters of elevation gain! At the top, you are rewarded with Carinthian specialties and a fantastic view over southern Carinthia.
We start at the Pirkdorfer See heading east towards Feistritz/Bistrica. The paved road gently ascends to the parking lot of the Petzen cable car. Before the parking lot, a paved road leads off to the left heading east. At the next fork, the route continues ascending east to a stabilized gravel road (slightly slippery), which then ascends through the high and mixed forest to Siebenhütten at 1,700 m above sea level. From there, you are rewarded with a perfect panoramic view over southern Carinthia. Downhill, we return via the same path (or via the Flow Country Trail - 11 km) back to the valley.
