Follow the path that, for more than a century, saw trains traveling between Amiens and Beauvais and which today has given way to hikers
It reuses the trackbed of a former railway line connecting Amiens to Beauvais, decommissioned by the S.N.C.F. It follows the bottom of the Selle Valley and crosses 8 municipalities of the Somme, between Bacouël-sur-Selle and Monsures, over a distance of 17 km. Its starting point, Bacouël-sur-Selle, is only 8 km from Amiens. From its creation, the Green Corridor aimed to be not only a pleasant hiking trail but also a Nature Trail offering visitors the possibility to discover the natural environments crossed and the heritage of the Valley. Information panels have therefore been created and placed along the route. The Nature Trail can also be used as a resource for discovery classes and educational outings. It is accessible to all types of hiking (on foot, mountain biking, and horseback riding) except motorized hiking. "Windows" have been created in the hedges to provide views of landscapes or heritage. Open to the public since summer 1997.
