The hut is also a starting point for the long-distance hiking route "Via Alpina" or for the ascent to the Drei Schwestern (Three Sisters).
There are many ways to reach the Gafadura Hut: comfortably along the driveable path (variant A, no cars allowed) or steeper on the marked mountain trail from Planken. From the valley, longer marked mountain trails lead to the popular Alpine Club hut: from Nendeln in 3 hours or via the long ascent from Schaanwald over the Alpzinken and the Paula Hut (unmanaged) in 3 to 4 hours.
Variants:
A: Via the driveable path from Planken to the Gafadura Hut.
B: Via the hiking path from Maurerberg to Schaanwald.
Planken - Gafadura Hut - Paula Hut - Schaanwald
To undertake a route requires careful planning. We recommend exchanging information with local information centers about the trails and weather conditions beforehand. Depending on the season and weather, this route may be closed or interrupted.
There are parking lots at the village entrance of Planken, at the community center, or at the school. If the route is done in the opposite direction, you can find parking at the post office in Schaanwald.

The short climb to the Saroja Pass is rewarded with a magnificent view of the Walgau and the Walserkamm. Especially delightful are the long evenings on the hut terrace and the sunset behind the Alpstein.
