Walk the trail in the middle of forest to the Lake Saimaa shoreline. There you can calm down to admire the art of our ancestors in the rock wall. The painting is 135 x 345cm and its vibrant red ochre colour has been preserved exceptionally well. The painting dates to 4,700-3,700 years ago during the period following the Greater Saimaa stage. There is a Saimaa Geopark sign at the parking area. Another sign is on the shore, near the rock painting.

Drive from the Ruokolahti Church to the Salosaarentie, which continues as the Äitsaarentie in Savilahti. Turn to the intersection, follow the signs of Savilahti, Sopala. Drive the Sopalantie towards Sopala about 1 km, the road turns right to Kirjamoinniementie. Drive the road about 300 m and on the side of the road is a turning point for cars where you can also park. The trail is about 10 min walk to the shoreline.

As you walk along the path, wear sturdy shoes and dress according to the weather.
As you walk along the path, beware of the bumps and roots of the path. There is a wooden viewing platform built on the shore to view the rock painting. The viewing platform can be slippery in the rain.
You can reach the rock painting along the Kirjamoinniementie road.
Public transport does not go to the Kolmiköytinen rock painting.
There is a small parking space by the signpost of Saimaa Geopark, next to Kirjamoinniementie road.
