Over the G'spitzen Riegel to the Rosalien Chapel

Bad Sauerbrunn is known for its "sour water" and its spa facilities with the spa park and its numerous events, such as the Rose Festival Rock'n Roll in the spa park or the Christmas tree village. This circular hike leads from the spa town, where spa doctor Dr. Grimm, who knows many little stories to tell during his guided tours, through the Rosalien forests along the border to Lower Austria past the Wiesen/Lanzenkirchen observation tower, to the summit of the Heuberg. There stands the Rosalien Chapel, known far beyond the state borders for its early Baroque interior and the magnificent view throughout the year. It is a destination for many hikers and pilgrims. The Mariazell long-distance hiking trail passes right by it. Accompanied by great viewpoints over the entire Wulka valley and historic buildings such as Forchtenstein Castle with its unique collections and numerous events throughout the year, it goes back to Bad Sauerbrunn. Passing Hausberg with its historic cross stations to the "Three Crosses," along the orchards and the Gaisbach brook with the mystical ice ponds, you now hike towards Wiesen. Past the Apfelrast, it goes back to the spa town.

You can of course also take the bus back in stages or along the whole route, as you prefer. Boarding points are available below the Rosalien Chapel, at Kohlstatt, at Forchtenstein Castle, in the town of Forchtenstein, and in Wiesen at the main square.
