Festival cycle route

The route runs from Eisenstadt to Schützen am Gebirge, continuing to Donnerskirchen, along the B10 via Oggau to Rust and Mörbisch, and finally via Platz der Freiheit, St. Margarethen, and Trausdorf back to Eisenstadt.

The indicated route can also be completed in smaller partial loops and with shortcuts:

Partial loop/variant 1: Donnerskirchen - Oggau - Oslip - Schützen - Donnerskirchen

Partial loop/variant 2: Rust - St. Margarethen - Trausdorf - Oslip - Oggau - Rust

Partial loop/variant 3: Mörbisch - St. Margarethen - Rust - Mörbisch

Partial loop/variant 4: Eisenstadt - Schützen - Oslip - Trausdorf - Eisenstadt

Since many cycle paths are agricultural roads, expect agricultural traffic there. Mutual consideration ensures that these paths remain pleasant for everyone to use.

Austria: A bicycle helmet is mandatory for children up to 12 years old. Safety vests are not mandatory at dusk, in darkness, or poor visibility but are certainly advantageous. Here is the Austrian bicycle regulation.

Slovakia: Bicycle helmets are mandatory for all children under 15 years. For adults, helmets are only mandatory outside urban areas. However, it is strongly recommended that adults always wear a bicycle helmet. Cyclists riding on the road edge under reduced visibility must wear visible signaling elements or a safety vest.

Hungary: There is no helmet obligation for cyclists. The maximum speed for cyclists outside built-up areas is 40 km/h. A speed of 50 km/h is allowed if the cyclist wears a helmet. At night and in poor visibility, all cyclists must wear a safety vest.

Travel documents: A valid identity card or passport is mandatory!

Arrival by train:

Lake Neusiedl is easily & comfortably accessible by train. No matter if you come from Switzerland, Germany, or western or southern Austria: You can change trains relaxedly at Vienna main station. The ÖBB regional trains bring you to Neusiedl am See station in just under 40 minutes, where coordinated bus and train connections towards Eisenstadt are also offered. In most trains, bicycle transport is possible: In Railjet and EC/IC as well as in Nightjets, a reservation for your bicycle is absolutely necessary. In regional trains, your bicycle is transported without reservation depending on the availability of bicycle spaces.
