B41 Zöberntal-Rabnitztal cycle trail

The Zöberntal-Rabnitztal cycle trail leads through the hilly landscape of the entire Zöbern and Rabnitz valleys. At Langeck you have a wonderful view of the wooded hills of the Geschriebenstein-Ìrottkö Nature Park. The route leads past meadows and fields through the tranquil villages of Deutsch Gerisdorf, Pilgersdorf and Steinbach into the Bucklige Welt. We particularly recommend the main square in Kirchschlag with its numerous stores and chilled places to stop for refreshments. Cycle along the Rabnitzbach stream towards the basket-weaving village of Piringsdorf and if you like, take a short break for refreshment at the Sulzquelle spring in Unterrabnitz. Back in Lockenhaus , the castle with its knights`games await your visit. Lockenhaus Castle looks back on a history of proud rulers, as well as legendary owners such as th Knights Templar or the Blood Countess Elisabeth Bathorny. If legend is to be believed, she bathed in the blood of virgins to preserve her eternal youth.
