The route runs mostly along well-maintained, paved bike paths and farm roads and is suitable for leisure cyclists and families as well as for more athletic cyclists. The few short climbs add variety to the route and are rewarded with beautiful views of the Pannonian landscape.
Numerous cultural and scenic highlights await along the route: In Eisenstadt, the historic old town and Esterházy Palace are impressive, while towns like Leithaprodersdorf, Stotzing, and Loretto captivate visitors with their regional charm and cultural treasures. The Loretto Basilica and the natural landscape surrounding the Leitha Mountains make the tour a diverse experience.
Leithaprodersdorf is a particularly delightful destination: the town is known far beyond the region for its numerous Heurigen and Buschenschanken. Here, regional specialties and Burgenland wines invite you to take a leisurely break—perfect for reflecting on the highlights of the bike tour during a delightful stop.
There are also plenty of opportunities for relaxation and cooling off: Lake Neufeld and Lake Steinbrunn offer ideal spots for a refreshing break during the summer months. Numerous other places to stop along the route round out the diverse offerings.
The B11 Leitha Cycle Route combines the enjoyment of nature, culture, and cuisine into a varied bike tour through the Leitha region—an experience for anyone who wants to discover the region in a relaxed, active way that engages all the senses.
Coming from Eisenstadt, the route leads over the Leitha Mountains and through the region’s distinctive landscapes—featuring vineyards, fields, and wooded areas—toward Leithaprodersdorf, Loretto, and Stotzing. Well-developed bike path connections provide numerous links to the regional bike path network as well as to adjacent bike routes.
