Winter hike Hochalpe

Winter hike to the mountain station of the Hochalpbahn. The route takes you through the wintry landscape of Pfronten’s local mountain and offers beautiful views of the surrounding peaks and the wide foothills. The route starts at the mountain station of the Breitenbergbahn and initially leads you comfortably along groomed paths over the snowy Hochalpe. After a while, you will reach a slightly steeper ascent that will challenge your endurance somewhat. But the effort is worth it, because once at the top you are rewarded with a fantastic panoramic view – on one side, the view extends across the open foothills to the horizon, and on the other side, your gaze wanders over the sea of peaks in the Alps. The return journey takes you back to the starting point by the same route. Alternatively, you can use the Hochalpbahn chairlift for the return trip (or the way up).

 On this winter hike, of course, you also have the opportunity to take a break and enjoy the wintry mountain scenery. Either pack a thermos with hot tea and a snack or stop by the Hochalphütte (please check if the hut is open).
